February 2015 – Wilderness Safaris Botswana and Wilderness Air Botswana will increase it’s aircraft fleet this yearannounced plans to increase its aircraft fleet with the addition of seven brand new GA8 Airvans. The first of the new aircraft, A2 – RNO Tshukudu, was delivered on 19 February 2015 and will take to the skies from the beginning of March. A further three Airvans will arrive over the course of March and April, with all seven expected to be in service within the next 18 months. The GA8 Airvan is designed and manufactured in Australia and has been specifically engineered to meet the latest international safety standards, as well as the demands of remote operations. While the aircraft takes a maximum of seven passengers, Wilderness Air will only transport between five and six passengers at any given time.
